At 4:45 this morning, we put the kids in the car, half asleep, and started driving. Luckily, they all fell back asleep until 6:30 or so. We drove through Atlanta, and then on to Chattanooga. There, we stopped at Lookout Mountain, a Historic Civil War site. It was fabulous. We had to drive 5 miles up a steep, winding mountain road, past a few tourist traps, until we reached the top. The view of the city was incredible, plus it gave us all a chance to walk around and stretch our legs. Then we got back in the car and drove through Nashville to Bowling Green, Kentucky, where we are spending the night. The boys were great in the car. Of course, the DVD players have something to do with it. I think they watched 4 movies today. We probably drove 13 hours altogether, which will be our longest driving day. Now it is 9:00 Central time, and all the boys are sleeping. Looks like it is time for me to hit the hay, too.

I was SO shocked when Chris called because I knew you were leaving that morning! For a fleeting moment I thought Chris was going to ask Jeff to come and play games but then decided that Tenn. was just a little too far to drive even for a session of Settlers! Enjoy your trip and stay in touch!
